When Life Hands You Kittens...

Sometimes life hands you… three newborn kittens in your living room.

My neighbor’s cat ran in 7 weeks ago and decided that my living room floor was the perfect place to deliver her litter. 😱

Definitely not on my agenda for the week.

But here’s the thing I keep learning in work and in life:
💡We don’t always get to choose what shows up.
💡But we absolutely get to choose how we respond.

So instead of stressing about the disruption, we made space (literally) and adapted. Now I’ve got three darling kittens I’m intentionally socializing so they’ll grow into confident, loving pets for their future families. A small reminder that surprise moments can become opportunities when we approach them with care and purpose.

Leadership is the same way.

Plans shift. Teams hit unexpected challenges. People need things we didn’t anticipate. The leaders who thrive aren’t the ones with the most rigid strategies. They’re the ones who can pause, breathe, adjust, and decide to create something good with what’s in front of them.

Where in your work this week might an unexpected “kitten moment” actually be an invitation?
